The unnamed protagonist awakens in the rain and is rescued by his classmate Karen Inukai. She takes the soaked and confused boy to her home, where she dotes on him while treating her mother coldly. Inukai undresses to bathe with him, causing embarrassment as he averts his gaze from her naked form. While looking at his reflection in a mirror, he realizes he has transformed into a dog. Later, Inukai takes him to her room and requests a handshake before naming him Pochita.
