Naraku captures the group to seize Koga’s shards while Inuyasha fights him. Kikyo prevents Kagome from using the sacred longbow, causing Naraku to drop her and expose the Shikon Jewel inside his body. Koga charges for the shards but gets trapped, though Miroku and Inuyasha rescue him at the cost of the lost shards. Kikyo holds the Jewel and urges Kagome to shoot her. The arrow purifies the Jewel, but Naraku’s demonic energy taints it, weakening Kikyo. Wounded, Naraku retreats. Inuyasha kisses Kikyo as she dies peacefully, and her soul collectors guide her spirit to rest among the stars.
