For one year, Ryouko Takamura has endured harassment from a persistent stalker. Her family hires investigator Kouichirou Kisaragi for help, not realizing he is the culprit. Ryouko connects to the Hell Link, where Enma Ai, the Hell Girl, provides a doll with a red string. Removing the string finalizes a contract that sends the target to Hell. Although Ryouko hesitates to use the service, the situation escalates when Detective Kisaragi kidnaps her and attacks her father. Fearing for her life, Ryouko removes the string to send Kisaragi to Hell in self-defense, resolving the immediate threat through supernatural means.
