Ako’s family visits a dilapidated apartment instead of a renovated B&B, where spirits attack them until the dying landlady intervenes. The monk explains the site was an Edo-era execution ground, and the landlady died protecting them. At school, Sho recounts a story about a cursed mirror from a sunken ship that traps a girl named Sophie. Reiko dismisses it as cliché, but sees water in her bathroom mirror afterward. Anko shares a tale of a man cursed by his wife, who dies of a heart attack after he witnesses the ritual. Finally, Katarina eats a cake meant for her grandmother, replaces it with a stone, and hears the grandmother’s voice approaching her bed at night.
