At the Yamada Sanatorium, Youta observes Hina's routine and submits his daily report. He is granted one hour with her, but she rejects him. Shiba advises Youta to make eye contact to earn her trust. Later, Hina suggests the surgery may have caused memory loss. Feeling despondent, Youta receives encouragement from friends and family. He brings a video game to help her, but she struggles. While Shiba assists, she shares that she entered her profession after her daughter died. Youta plays the game overnight to support Hina. Shiba eventually discovers Youta falsified his reports and contacts a security officer.
