Ai starts investigating Class 3-4, where Alice provides outside clues that Dee secretly destroys. On Ai's thirteenth birthday, Julie, Scar, and the class celebrate, with Alice gifting a repaired shovel and warning about unfulfilled wishes. Alice notes Dee's secretive changes and prefers the class to the outside world. During the cultural festival, Ai volunteers with Alice, causing a minor time paradox. In the library, Dee usually finds and destroys Alice's clues, but Ai locates one about a deceased student. Dee stops her from seeing the name, revealing the student died on July 28th. She explains the class reset time to prevent this death, creating the loop. Dee fears disappearing if the loop ends, as she loves Alice and believes she alone understands him. Seeing Alice play basketball with Ai makes Dee feel envious and dejected.
