Naoya claims Rika’s affection was merely heat, angering her as she insists she has a cold. He states he would reject her anyway to spare Saki and Nagisa. Rika confesses her love publicly and drags Naoya to a gym storeroom, revealing her plan to make him fall for her. When he refuses, she kisses him and flees, unnoticed by a classmate. Saki and Nagisa are upset, but Saki rationalizes the kiss as emotionless. She decides her own kiss will be the true first. Confused, Naoya apologizes and proposes a date to start fresh. Saki immediately demands a hot spring date, ending the conflict with a new plan.
