On New Year's Day, Nishikata encounters Takagi at a shrine where they compete to see who receives the luckier fortune, a contest Takagi wins. Nishikata suggests repeating the tradition next year, prompting Takagi to reveal her wish has already come true. Later, Takagi challenges Nishikata to a thirty-minute snowman building contest. While Takagi constructs a small figure, Nishikata attempts to build a large one but runs out of time. Takagi assists him in completing his creation. Meanwhile, Takao meets Kimura at the school entrance, and Yukari, Mina, and Sanae discuss their holiday activities in the classroom. Nishikata informs Hojo about Hamaguchi’s birthday preferences, and she asks him to keep the conversation secret. After school, Nishikata refuses to share his discussion with Hojo. Takagi then claims she plans to give a present to a 15-year-old boy. When Nishikata asks who, she clarifies she meant him for his birthday next year, leading to mutual apologies.
