Sakon is invited by the Akizuki family to perform Bunraku. Following the show, head Souichirou Akizuki receives a call and departs abruptly. Sakon learns of slasher killings in a nearby village, with Akizuki's eldest son, Kyouichi, as the primary suspect. Kyouichi has vanished alongside an allegedly cursed Byakko sword. Hours later, another call reports that Souichirou has been murdered by his own son, escalating the tension surrounding the missing heir and the weapon.
