Toshihiko and Yuka evade Kifūken cleanup members and a giant white-clad pursuer, eventually reaching her grandfather's summerhouse. During a stay at a hotel, Toshihiko learns Yuka transforms into a shokujinki only when overly excited. Later, she loses control during dinner and attempts to attack him. Despite this, Toshihiko reaffirms his love for her. Yuka shares that her mother fell in love with a human, left her family, and was reportedly killed by him. She asks Toshihiko to kill her if she ever becomes fully consumed by her claws. He firmly refuses, promising to find a way for them to remain together.
