Dumas, a diligent farmer and current Shard Champion, earned his title by defeating rivals in a Joust, establishing himself as the region's strongest caster. He is also mentoring a young student named Mickey. In contrast, Robès is an arrogant aristocrat who openly expresses disdain for Dumas. During a party, Robès declares his intention to defeat Dumas and seize the Shard Champion title. The narrative further reveals that Robès secretly operates as a thief known as "No-Face," stealing spirits and items from local residents.
