Following the Dawn Rebellion, Char journeys to Earth and encounters Lalah Sune, a girl possessing enigmatic abilities. Concurrently, Tem Ray, Amuro’s father, advances the RX-78 development project. Upon learning that Doctor Minovsky, a pivotal figure in Zeon mobile suit technology, has defected, Tem travels to the moon. There, the inaugural conflict between mobile suits erupts within the lunar twilight zone. The narrative then shifts to Universal Century 0079, where Side 3, the space colony most distant from Earth, initiates a war of independence against the Earth Federation government under the banner of the Principality of Zeon. This declaration marks the onset of an era defined by violent upheaval, a conflict that will ultimately result in the death of half the human population.
