Inspector Kenmochi investigates Sakuragi's death while teacher Matoba suspects former educator M. Student Makabe theorizes about the crime, but Hajime disagrees. Kenmochi reveals that Mystery Club member Chihiro Aoyama vanished ten years ago during her investigation. Student Onoue possesses Sakuragi's data disc revealing the culprit's identity but is murdered by the Magician with a hammer. His body is moved to the printing room to match a mystery. Hajime and Miyuki Nanase discover Sakuragi's notes in the club minutes, indicating only six mysteries originally existed. Miyuki is attacked while removing a poster in the old school building. Hajime finds her injured near the fountain, fulfilling the third mystery.
