Following a dream about a Secret Dinosaur, Dr. Z predicts the location of a Therizinosaurus and dispatches Ursula, Zander, and Ed to Japan to capture it. While the D-Team searches for a suitable fossil for their school project, the Therizinosaurus appears. Ursula, Zander, and Ed summon Terry, Spiny, and Tank but are defeated. Dr. Z and Seth arrive to claim the dinosaur, but Dr. Z's attempt fails immediately. Max and Rex successfully capture the Therizinosaurus. After the battle, the D-Team discovers the perfect fossil for their project, which is a Therizinosaurus fossil.
