Daichi defends Yuriko from an assailant who retreats upon the arrival of bystanders. Haruka, burdened by guilt and sensing Yoshihisa’s concern, wanders to a park where she meets Tsukino and is taken to her apartment. Hiyori informs Yoshihisa of the situation and confesses her love, but he rejects her by stating his feelings for Haruka. Hiyori accepts this outcome while Yoshihisa searches for Haruka. Daichi, having recovered, identifies Tsukino as the attacker. Yuriko’s call warns Haruka of an ambush by Tsukino’s split personality, which stems from years of bullying. Yoshihisa arrives to shield Haruka. Haruka appeals to Tsukino’s true self, reminding her that people care for her. This helps her overcome her dark side, leading Tsukino to surrender to the police.
