Ryou is a middle school student living alone in a large apartment after her parents work abroad and her grandmother passes away. To fill her time, she cooks, but lately, her dishes don't feel quite right. The change comes when her cousin Kirin moves in temporarily to attend cram school. Ryou notices her cooking improves when they eat together. She learns that food tastes better when made and shared with people she cares about. This experience grows richer when her friend Shiina joins them in their cooking efforts.
