Yaomay travels to Hong Kong to investigate the second walled city of Kowloon. She learns that many believe it was destroyed three years ago, viewing its existence as an urban legend. Additionally, she finds that any money earned within Kowloon vanishes upon leaving. While using an internet cafe to research further, she chats with Yulong, a confederate of Dr. Hebinuma the hermaphrodite. Yaomay also notices that Kowloon remains in perpetual summer, contrasting with the winter experienced across the rest of Asia. During her absence, Reiko and Hajime rekindle their romance.
