Kuro and Benkei flee from pursuers and take shelter in the forest belonging to Kuromitsu. During their stay, Kuro becomes sick, prompting Benkei to depart in search of medicine. While Benkei is away, the pursuers launch an attack against Kuro and Kuromitsu. The assault results in Kuro sustaining fatal injuries. In the aftermath of the violence, Kuromitsu presents Kuro with an offer of eternal life, fundamentally altering the fate of the wounded fugitive amidst the chaos of the forest refuge.
