Kusuriya no Hitorigoto

Maomao, the daughter of an apothecary, is abruptly uprooted from her quiet life when she is sold into servitude at the emperor’s palace. Unaccustomed to submission, she intervenes when members of the imperial family become ill, using her knowledge to seek a cure. Her actions draw the attention of Jinshi, a palace official who supports her advancement. With each medical case she solves, Maomao gains recognition and begins to carve out a place for herself in the palace.
