Sophia commands the Urbanus to prevent General Vitellius from attacking Disith, adhering to a ceasefire during the Emperor's absence. Duke Mad-thane's fleet arrival compels Disith to withdraw. A vanship courier delivers an invitation from Walker, prompting the Silvana to proceed to Horizon Cave for repairs and resupply. Lescius, identified as a member of the purged House Dagobert, gives Alex the third Mysterion. Prime Minister Marius of the purged House Bassianus had previously sent the final Mysterion to Alex before his death. The Silvana reaches Horizon Cave, now a training base for an assault against the Guild. Despite Guild suspicions of rebellion, Delphine opts against immediate action. Claus meets Mikhail Wednesday, elder brother of the late Ralph Wednesday, from whom Claus assumed the duty of delivering Alvis. Claus and Lavie reunite with fellow vanship pilots from Norkia, summoned by Duke Mad-thane to provide fighter support following their actions at Minagith.
