EP 49Speed uses balloons on the Mach 5 to escape a deserted WWII island
Mar 10, 1968Speed’s family faces a storm while traveling to the Grand Prix, forcing their plane to land on an uncharted island. They discover the location is a forgotten World War II base with no food or functioning radios. To signal for help, Speed modifies the Mach 5 with large balloons. The group draws lots to determine who will pilot the vehicle. Speed wins, while Trixie’s lot goes to Susie, who wishes to visit her sick grandmother. Mr. Bullion purchases the final spot but dies when his stolen balloon explodes against a mountain. Speed discovers Spritle and Chim Chim have stowed away again. After discarding Bullion’s gold, the team reaches land, allowing Susie to see her grandmother. The Grand Prix is postponed until all survivors are rescued.
EP 50Speed Racer and the Car Acrobatic Team face a dangerous grudge race orchestrated by international criminals.
Mar 17, 1968A consortium of international criminals tricks Speed Racer and the Car Acrobatic Team into a dangerous grudge race to destroy them and expose Racer X, also known as Secret Agent 9. The team is currently missing Snake Oiler, who is either dead or still injured from his crash in "The Most Dangerous Race." The criminals attack Racer X, revealing themselves as the masterminds behind previous clandestine actions. Racer X barely escapes an assassination attempt and warns Speed and the team that their vehicles have been rigged with explosives. The Car Acrobats turn the tables on the gang, while Speed receives a surprising reaction when he finally inquires about Racer X's true identity. This episode serves as a sequel to "The Most Dangerous Race" and follows up on events from "Gang of Assassins," "The Secret Invaders," and "The Dangerous Witness."

Mar 24, 1968Mr. Karat Goldminter launches the Around the World Grand Prix, a multi-vehicle competition starting in Los Angeles and ending in Tokyo. The winner receives a large sum of gold and marriage to his daughter Lovelace. To avoid this union, Lovelace and her guardian Oscar enter the race to teach him a lesson. Speed and Sparky compete fiercely, but Team 4 employs cheating tactics, such as deploying spikes from their hubs. During the water leg, Lovelace crashes her boat and is rescued from sharks by Speed. In the aerial segment, Team 4 uses a blade and cable to knock several aircraft, including Speed's, out of the sky.
EP 52Speed and Sparky win the race after refueling and overcoming Racer X's interference
Mar 31, 1968Speed and Sparky survive a crash and pursue other competitors. A sandstorm in the Sahara Desert buries the racers. On the final leg, Lovelace runs out of fuel, and Speed provides extra gas, leaving him empty. Racer X lectures Speed on professional duty over helping rivals, causing Speed to self-reproach. Sparky then spots a fuel tank left by Racer X. Refueled, they compete for victory. Speed wins the Around the World Grand Prix, becoming a World Champion Racer. Lovelace reveals her identity to her father and refuses marriage. Speed declares there are more races to win as he and Sparky continue racing.
