Inspector Nakamori suspects Kaito is the phantom thief Kid after spotting him during a failed theft of the Angel Crown. Kaito leaves a calling card for a second attempt, prompting Nakamori to share his suspicions with Aoko. She plans to take Kaito on a date at Tropical Land on the day of the heist to prove his innocence. Kaito realizes he can use this outing to establish an alibi while executing the robbery. During a movie screening, he slips away to successfully steal the crown using a perfect disguise, which confuses Nakamori. He returns to Aoko before she notices his absence, and she expresses relief that he is not the thief.
