A hostile army gathers on the western border and invades Ohfun. King Rijarl mobilizes his forces and departs with Headmaster Carwes and High Priestess Jenny, leaving a council of ministers to manage the capital. In class, Ila tells Louie that the paper he requested her to translate is actually a list of ingredients for a powerful magical creature. Louie has little time to consider this mystery before Master Foltess takes him away for work-study. During this assignment, Louie discovers a treasonous plot in which young Lily plays an integral part.
