Genie and Merrill visit Melissa after her ritual, which reveals her champion. Louie arrives at the temple, evades priestesses, and fights Genie and Merrill on the roof. His spell backfires, destroying the roof and causing him to fall into the sacred pool. Melissa screams, recognizing Louie as her destined champion.

Discovering identical objectives, the groups initially compete but eventually agree to cooperate due to exhaustion. They locate Gonga inside a cave, but he refuses to exit without a massive crystal. As the cave becomes unstable and threatens to collapse, Louie enters the dangerous structure to retrieve the gem for his companion.
