Conan, Ran, and Kogoro receive a letter from a mysterious client and travel to Moonshima, a small island in Izu. They discover the client is a pianist who supposedly died playing the "Moonlight" sonata 12 years ago. While investigating the client at the community center, they encounter the third memorial service for the former mayor. During this event, the "Moonlight" sonata begins to play, creating a mysterious atmosphere as the group delves deeper into the case involving the seemingly deceased pianist and the local history.
