Conan, Haibara, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, and Genta discover an abandoned car on a riverbank before rain forces them to leave. They play soccer with Tamaki Onda, a design company representative, who demonstrates impressive strength. The next day, Tamaki is found dead in that same vehicle. Conan and his friends meet Detectives Takagi and Chiba at the scene. With no witnesses due to the storm, suspicion falls on Ryuji Koyabu, whose fingerprints are on Tamaki's glasses and who has a criminal record. Tamaki’s subordinate, Yurina Kinosaki, is also identified through earrings found on the body. Despite these connections, both Koyabu and Kinosaki appear to have alibis for the estimated time of death, leaving the case unresolved.
