Ep. 1074: Kogoro, Ran, and Conan investigate a stolen heirloom pot theft at a Shimonoseki pufferfish restaurant.
Kogoro, Ran, and Conan travel to Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, accompanied by lawyer Hiroki Oi. They meet Makoto Izumiya, the fourth generation owner of Izumiya, and his daughter Kaede, whose prized heirloom pot was stolen during a busy period. The pot is valuable for the unique umami flavor its skin imparts to the soup stock. Conan and the group interview four suspects: Yasushi Kobayashi, a former employee arrested two years ago; Shinichi Fujii, who failed to buy the business; Satoru Daiehara, a rival restaurant owner; and Keisuke Ban, a fired ex-employee. After visiting each suspect, the group deduces at an izakaya. A robber attacks Kogoro with a bottle before fleeing. Police review security footage from Kyushu to Honshu, including the Kanmon Tunnel and Mojiko Retro, but find no suspect appearances. With all suspects having perfect alibis, the group must uncover the culprit's trick.
