Conan, Haibara, and the Detective Boys observe Takagi and Chiba surveilling Satomi Yoda, the ex-girlfriend of robbery suspect Kazuma Fujiki. Police suspect Fujiki committed a violent assault and are tracking him via Yoda. After Yoda acts strangely by buying luxury food and cashing out money, she invites the officers to her home to confess. She claims Fujiki fled due to police presence, but the Detective Boys discover security footage of him near her residence and learn she recently engaged to Daisuke Ishinabe. Conan deduces her confession is a lie and confronts the truth while Ishinabe helps Yoda load heavy books into a van.
