Kogoro, Ran, and Conan visit an Italian restaurant in Beika for free drinks, only to find it engulfed in flames. Kogoro rescues a man named Jun Akimura and discovers a body inside. Inspector Yuminaga determines the fire was accidental, but the victim, 39-year-old cook Marcello Salerno, was murdered. The owner, Ryutaro Kurasaka, arrives alongside Marcello’s assistant Mariko and estranged wife Arisa Salerno. Conan deduces Marcello prepared a final dinner for Arisa. Clues suggest the victim cooked until death, and footprints indicate the killer erased evidence. Kogoro’s accidental bump with a cart raises suspicion about the murder method. Conan identifies specific dishes on the menu, including Bagna Cauda, Milanese-style risotto, Picatta, and Tiramisu, to solve the case.
