The Junior Detective League deduces that a riddle references shogi, identifying the dragon as a promoted rook. They follow the rook's direction on the board to escape the cave, leading to the arrest of the robbers. Conan is hospitalized, where a nurse informs his friends that his blood type is unavailable. Ran volunteers her blood for the transfusion and subsequently reveals she knows Conan is Jimmy. A few days after his surgery, Conan decides to confess his true identity to Ran. Later that night, Vi enters Conan's room and points a gun at him.
