Takagi apprehends the suspect attempting to flee in a police vehicle, but he fails to reach Simone in time to prevent the marriage as the sun sets and distance increases. His colleagues encourage him to run, yet Conan successfully halts the ceremony with assistance from Tomoaki Araide. Takagi eventually reaches the restaurant after the sun has fully disappeared, where Satou informs him she claimed an emergency case had arisen. He smiles and enters the car. Meanwhile, Shiratori departs the venue feeling disappointed about the closed marriage. Conan observes that the situation between Takagi and Satou reminds him of his own relationship with Ran.
