Ep. 342: Wedding at Huis Ten Bosch with Missing Ring and Glass Artisan Mystery

Sonoko invites Ran and Conan to a wedding at Huis Ten Bosch, where they meet glass artisan Junichi Takahashi. Tae Ooga invites him to dinner, and Shinya’s parents give Akane an heirloom ring. Before the ceremony, the ring vanishes, replaced by a photo of Akane with Hydrangea Otakusas. Conan deduces the flower references Taki, Philipp Franz von Siebold’s wife, and locates the ring near a fountain depicting Cupid and Psyche. Akane is found kidnapped in a carillon; Takahashi planned to bomb Tae Ooga’s blimp. Conan stops the explosion. Conan tranquilizes Sonoko, explaining that Mika Ooga and Tae hid the ring to test Akane. Takahashi sought revenge for Akane’s father, who committed suicide after the Ooga bank demanded debt repayment. The uncle clarifies the family delayed the debt, but glass production costs exceeded sales profits, worsening the situation. Takahashi collapses upon realizing the Ooga were not responsible. Ran catches the bouquet, prompting Conan to flee.
