Sato and Takagi track a suspect known as Hammer Man to an apartment, later joined by Conan, Ran, and Sonoko. They interrogate a courier, a bike delivery woman, and a pizza deliverer who all left the premises without meeting their clients, following specific instructions to leave or retrieve items. The group realizes no one was watching the apartment during the questioning. Upon entering, they find a masked man unconscious. Conan removes the mask and observes that the man was struck by a hammer, deducing that Hammer Man has impersonated one of the three deliverers to escape detection.
