Criminal psychologist Douji Hiramune challenges a serial killer on television while staying at the same apartment complex as Ayumi and the Detective Boys. Haibara spots a man whistling the killer's signature tune, prompting Conan to alert officers Takagi, Chiba, and Sato. Conan discovers Hiramune murdered with a "Z" on his back, mirroring victims from 20 or 15 years ago. Police expected an "N" but find Hiramune's hands on Ctrl+C and a mouse wire. Investigating relatives, Conan links the victims to a Mahjong parlor active two decades ago, excluding Morimura, who died in a hit-and-run during the original investigation.
