Conan and Sera interpret the victim’s rabbit shadow message, identifying the killer as Usagi, a claustrophobic photographer who accidentally struck her while panicking in a dark room. He claims she trapped him to force him to overcome his fear, which hindered his ability to develop film. Conan and Sera rush to the burning cabin to find Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko safe, rescued by a mysterious woman. Conan deduces this savior is Haibara, who took an APTX4869 antidote and wore the victim’s clothes to save the children.
