Conan and his friends attend the production presentation for the new office building commemorative movie Big Monster Gomera vs Kamen Yaiba at Nissho TV in Osaka. During the announcement, a fatal accident occurs in a warehouse where talented producer Yonekura is crushed by a giant monster figure. The supporting rope was cut with a knife, leading Inspector Otaki of the Osaka Prefectural Police to treat the event as a murder rather than an accident. The investigation narrows the suspects down to Yonekura's three subordinate producers: Kosugi, Mihara, and Takauchi.
