Ep. 23: Akira confronts Haruka and Ruru while Shirogane’s true nature as a shadow is revealed.
Akira, Aya, and Kengo travel to Haruka’s mansion with Master and Mayu, carrying Shirogane’s cane. Upon arrival, possessed maids lead them to Ushi-sama and Ruru. Ruru summons Kokuchi to attack, but Akira refuses to transform, claiming his current form suffices. He distracts a large Kokuchi, allowing Kengo and Aya to defeat the smaller ones. Akira strikes the large Kokuchi with the cane, which falls near Ushi-sama. Ruru carries Ushi-sama away safely. Haruka is revealed to be Ushi-sama, not his grandfather. Haruka urges Akira to transform, prompting Akira to throw a doppelgänger doll. Shirogane emerges, explaining he became Akira’s shadow after Kou faked his death using blinding light to protect Akira from a spy. Haruka asks for her brother, and Kou appears. Haruka flees with Ruru, leaving possessed maids behind. Kou offers to handle them, while Akira’s group pursues Haruka. Aya playfully thanks Kou for his harassment before they depart.
