With fewer children in the Hidden Leaf Village choosing the ninja path, Rock Lee discusses the decline with Might Guy. Lee overhears his idol declare that ninjutsu is the most important aspect of being a ninja. Later, while visiting the hospitalized Guy-sensei, Lee learns from Tsunade that his mentor does not have much time left. This revelation prompts Lee to take action to restore the reputation of ninjas, driven by his concern for his teacher's condition and his idol's recent statements regarding the value of ninjutsu.
