Condor, an ostrich formerly detained by Team 7, recalls his capture alongside three other animals by Kotetsu, Rock Lee, Naruto, and Shino in the prohibited Forest of Death reserve. Upon locating the ostrich, Shino’s insects are consumed by carnivorous plants, allowing Condor to flee while Rock Lee is assaulted by a kangaroo boxer. Condor subsequently attacks Naruto and Kotetsu with Taijutsu, prompting the team to retreat after recognizing the animals' intelligence and ninja capabilities. Condor returns accompanied by an anteater and a baby kangaroo boxer, forming the four ninja animals. Just as Kotetsu faces death, Izumo arrives to save him, enabling the Konoha ninjas to finally overwhelm the group.
