Following Pain's invasion, Konoha's military strength is diminished, prompting Neji Hyuuga and Tenten to visit a local tool research facility for reinforcements. While Might Guy assigns Naruto to assist Rock Lee in the hospital, he appoints Tenten as the leader of the new team. Upon arrival, they encounter Iou, the tool maker, who is being pressured by two ninja, Gameru and Kusune, for additional equipment. After Iou refuses, the intruders summon two prototype creations, Dako and Tsuru-Kame, which were illicitly sold by Iou's apprentice, Shoseki. As Naruto and Neji engage the attackers, Iou provides Tenten with his latest invention, Jidanda, to help turn the tide of the conflict.
