Konohamaru's team requests Neji discuss Naruto's heroism, but he instead narrates an event from three years ago during the Chunin exams. While Orochimaru attacks Konoha, two rogue ninja seize the opportunity to abduct Hinata. Neji, Tenten, Kiba, and Akamaru rush to rescue her but face danger until Hiashi arrives to save them. Hiashi reveals that Neji is the cherished memory of his younger brother, leading Neji to realize that Naruto's words about destiny were correct and that he is not merely bound by his clan name. When Konohamaru's team complains that Naruto was absent from the tale, Neji cryptically states that Naruto was actually the most significant element of the story.
