Upon learning that his peers have been promoted to Chunin, with Neji Hyuga becoming a Jonin and Gaara ascending to the position of Fifth Kazekage, Naruto presents Kakashi Hatake with a copy of Jiraiya's latest publication, Make-Out Tactics. Kakashi subsequently challenges Naruto and Sakura to a bell retrieval exercise to test their new abilities. Concurrently, Jiraiya discusses the Akatsuki's pursuit of the Tailed Beasts and Gaara with Kakashi. Yura detects the arrival of Sasori and Deidara at the Hidden Sand Village, who intend to capture Gaara, the One-Tailed Jinchuriki.
