Kakashi meets Tsunade in Konoha regarding the upcoming war before receiving an urgent SOS from Guy via messenger tortoise. He travels to a ship bound for the Land of Lightning, where Yamato, Aoba, and Guy discuss rumors of a shinobi who can copy both appearance and chakra. Upon arrival, Kakashi calls for Guy, who mistakenly believes the visitor is an imposter due to the earlier warning. Guy attacks Kakashi, and later Yamato and Aoba when they defend him. Kakashi proves his identity by recalling a shared memory from their youth. After Guy realizes the SOS was sent by accident, Kakashi returns to Konoha.
