Ep. 428: Tenten explores friendship and dreams while fighting Rain ninja to protect her village.
Tenten asks Kurenai to teach genjutsu, but Kurenai refuses in her dream. A disguised merchant provides a map to the Rain Village, which breaks the illusion. Guards arrest Tenten for trying to leave, revealing the map is a letter about an incoming attack. She sees Lee and Neji outside her cell. Rain ninja invade the Leaf Village using summoning formulas. Menma brings the merchant to jail and asks Tenten for help. Menma, in Tailed Beast mode, distracts Hanzou and his giant salamander. Tenten uses her Treasured Tools scroll to defeat Hanzou and stop the invasion. Her friends congratulate her, and she smiles, stating she belongs in the dream world. This episode originally aired with episode 427 as a double special titled Road to Tenten: Yume no Sekai e during the Birth of the Ten-Tails' Jinchuriki arc.
