Tsunade dreams of Jiraiya and reads his scrolls, recalling the history of Minato sealing the Nine Tails. Naruto visits the Uchiha compound to pick up Sasuke, who rejects their friendship. Team 7 visits a cemetery where Kakashi teaches about teamwork. During a training exercise, Naruto falls into a chasm while racing Sasuke. Inside his mind, Naruto demands chakra from Kurama, who agrees to help to avoid his own death. Naruto summons Gamabunta to escape. Meanwhile, Minato reflects on sealing the beast in Naruto and Kushina. Team Kakashi, along with Guy, Asuma, and Kurenai, are assigned to search for missing shinobi.
