Ep. 437: Shizune worries for Tsunade while Neji meets the masked man who paralyzes Naruto.
Shizune brings dinner to Tsunade, who is engrossed in Jiraiya’s novel about Konohagakure. Inside the story, Neji questions the masked man’s motives for changing the village system. The masked man paralyzes Naruto to silence him and asks Neji to witness his plans. Neji agrees to return to his teammates after listening. Meanwhile, Jiraiya enters Orochimaru’s hideout and finds a bandaged figure. Team Jiraiya reports to the masked man that the Konoha genin assisted them despite orders, prompting continued surveillance. Neji confirms the genin are his teammates and considers if they can change the shinobi future. Naruto fails to access Nine-Tails chakra while Sasuke and Sakura discuss their mission. Lee and Tenten search for Neji and Guy, eventually attacked by explosive tags. Hinata spots Neji and the masked man observing Sasuke, Sakura, and Sasori. Sasuke attacks Sasori, who poisons him. The Nine-Tails urges Naruto to break the seal. Jiraiya suddenly appears to Naruto.
