Ep. 55: Kakashi guides Naruto to discover his wind nature through shadow clone leaf-cutting training.

Kakashi and Naruto meet at the training field to teach Naruto how to create a unique jutsu by harnessing his elemental nature. Kakashi explains that Naruto’s Rasengan demonstrates this principle and outlines the five basic natures: Earth, Fire, Water, Wind, and Lightning. Naruto deduces that Sasuke Uchiha possesses two natures due to his Fire and Lightning techniques. Using special litmus paper, Naruto discovers his own nature is Wind. Yamato arrives and demonstrates that his Wood style combines Earth and Water chakra. Kakashi notes that melding two natures to create a new one requires kekkei genkai, like Haku’s Ice style. To reduce training time, Kakashi plans to use shadow clones, which retain memories after dispelling. Naruto’s large chakra reserves, enhanced by the Nine Tailed Fox’s chakra, allow him to create and maintain many clones. Yamato supervises to suppress the Nine Tails if Naruto depletes his chakra. Naruto creates multiple clones, and Kakashi assigns them to slice leaves in half using only wind chakra. Naruto is surprised when he almost immediately tears the leaf, suggesting the training may not take long.
