Naruto wakes from a nightmare about his Version 2 form and ponders Sasuke’s vow to join Orochimaru for vengeance against Itachi. Sai, reading friendship guides in the Konoha Library, interrupts Naruto and Sakura to create nicknames. After Sakura suggests using personality traits, Sai calls her ugly, blushing her. They visit Kakashi in the hospital, where he reveals Yamato already reported their meeting with Sasuke. Kakashi announces a new, unique ninjutsu technique more powerful than the Rasengan for Naruto. At lunch, Ino develops an infatuation with Sai. Shikamaru informs Naruto that Tsunade approved his participation in future missions now that the Chunin Exams are over. Asuma warns that Akatsuki’s hunt for tailed beasts will soon reach Konoha. Sai decides to call Ino beautiful, believing women prefer opposites of their appearance. Outside the village, grave robbers search unsuccessfully for a specific target.
