Ep. 123: Ultimate VS Supreme Battle: Spaghetti Showdown Between Teams
Mariko Niki invites Yamaoka and Kurita to lunch at an Italian restaurant. They witness Yūzan Kaibara scolding the chef for poor carbonara and announce the next Ultimate VS Supreme Menu competition focuses on spaghetti. Yamaoka plans to adapt the dish for Japanese tastes, but Kurita objects. After Niki criticizes Kurita’s negativity, she departs upset. The Supreme team serves garlic and tomato sauce spaghetti, while the Ultimate team offers creations with sea urchin eggs, salmon roe, and abalone sauce. The Supreme team wins because their simple preparations highlighted the pasta's natural flavor, whereas the Ultimate dishes masked it. Defeated, Yamaoka asks Kurita to join him for dinner, admitting he should have valued her input and acknowledging their strength as a team.
