Seventeen-year-old Sueharu Maru lives next to his outgoing childhood friend Kuroha Shida. Although Kuroha confesses her feelings, Sueharu rejects her because he is focused on Shirokusa Kachi, a beautiful idol and award-winning author who appears indifferent to other boys but treats Sueharu differently. Believing he has a chance with Shirokusa, Sueharu prepares to confess his love. However, he is devastated to discover that Shirokusa already has a boyfriend. Following this rejection, Kuroha approaches Sueharu and offers to help him seek revenge against Shirokusa and her new partner.
